Welcome to the Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta!

WHO WE ARE

For over 75 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta has provided the youth of our community a safe place to learn and grow! Since our founding in 1944, our Club has touched the lives of tens of thousands of young people with a rich history of service, fiscal responsibility, and evidence-based strategies of impact for the at-risk children we serve.

Our role has changed through the decades from “Boys Club,” to athletic center, and beyond. Today, we serve our community through seven academic focused youth development centers. We build our program around core components of Character & Leadership, Education, Health & Wellness, Sports & Recreation, Workforce Development, the Arts, and of course – FUN! Club members learn to swim, complete their homework, and most importantly, find a place where they are safe and loved every day at our Boys & Girls Club!

Each day, afterschool and in the summer, sites operate under a carefully constructed schedule of activities such as homework hour, tutoring and academic times led by certified teachers, physical activities, swim lessons, healthy meals, and positive and engaging staff. We also incorporate a myriad of special programs such as robotics, college readiness, workforce development, exciting field trips, reading time, the arts, videography, dance, wrestling, kayaking, and so much more!

Membership is open to all youth ages 5-18 with a special focus on those facing challenging or disadvantaged circumstances. The Club currently serves over 1,000 young people every day across seven sites in Lowndes and Brooks County. Recently, we opened two sites in public housing communities to better reach those who need us most and completed a brand new Boys & Girls Club in Brooks County including a K-5 Building, Teen Center, Gymnasium, Bike Trail and Aquatic Facility!
